The Preferred Source of Pure Iron

Company Profile

The Orinoco Iron plant, part of the IBH Group in Venezuela , has a design capacity of approximately 2.2 million tones per year and uses the FINMET® process which has been jointly developed by FIOR® and Voest Alpine IndustrieanLagenbau (VAI). Although Orinoco Iron started commercial operations in May of 2000, IBH's export experience began in late 1970's and its product has been the preferred source of virgin iron units worldwide.

Orinoco Iron uses iron ore fines directly from the mines providing a superior product with very high density, low gangue and low residual. Additionally, the use of a fluidized iron ore process allows us to deliver a high metallization and controlled carbon content HBI.
Our mission is to produce and supply metallic iron units, with the required quality, to the worldwide steel industry, within a close service oriented relationship.
