Midrex Technologies, Inc. is an international process technology company principally known for the MIDREX® Process, which uses natural gas or synthesis gas to convert iron ore into direct reduced iron (DRI), a high quality ferrous charge material used in iron and steelmaking. DRI is produced in natural lump or pellet forms or is compacted into compacted hot briquetted iron (HBI) form.

Midrex continues to be the leading innovator and technology supplier in the direct reduction of iron ore. Each year since 1987, the MIDREX® Direct Reduction Process has produced more than 60% of the world's DRI.

Midrex offers the FASTMET® and ITmk3® processes for producing metallic iron using iron-bearing fines or waste streams and coal. Also available is the FASTMELT® Process for producing blast furnace-grade hot metal using iron bearing fines or waste streams and coal. Midrex is aggressively pursuing opportunities in other processing industries to utilize its sales, marketing, project execution and process development expertise.
