Ship Management & Transport Limited, was founded in 1990 and has its headquarters in Limassol , Cyprus . Technical operations - crewing, conversion and maintenance - are managed from SMT's Gdynia, Poland office, and its Commercial Representatives in the United States handle fleet coordination, with support from the Polish and Cypriot offices.

SMT's primary business is the transport of dry-bulk commodities throughout the Western hemisphere, with a particular expertise in self-discharging self-loading operations, as well as providing a comprehensive array of ship management services for vessel owners around the world.

SMT's handy-size belt unloaders and overhead gantry craned bulk carriers, ranging from 23,000 to 51,000 dwt, handle approximately 10 million metric tons of cargo per year. Depending on the type of vessel, the nature of the cargo, and the capacity of the shore side reception system, discharge rates may be as high as 1,000 metric tons per hour.
